DSCN4985 Brighton and Hove 908 (YN56 FFJ) - 28 Sep 2010
Tuesday 28 Sept 2010 (1309) –Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company (Go-Ahead Group owned) 908 (YN56 FFJ), an East Lancs bodied Scania Omnidekka, one of 18 such buses bought in Aug/Sep 2006 which seated 8 more passengers than most buses of this style in the fleet - they look to have a longer wheelbase as a result and I think they are all employed on service 12/12A between Brighton and Eastbourne. Most B&H buses carry names of people having a connection with the Brighton area. Many people with an interest in road passenger transport will not fail to recognise the name of Thomas Harrington, the founder of a firm established in 1897 in Hove, that became a byword for quality in the manufacture of early motor car bodies. However, it was as bus and coach body manufacturer from 1930 that Harrington’s achieved its greatest fame.
