Saturday 22 July 2017 (1442) – H C Chambers and Son (Go-Ahead Group) 1507 (YN55 PZJ), an East Lancs bodied Scania N94UD new to Metrobus in February 2006. It was seen travelling through Long Melford, Suffolk when operating the 1430 service 753 from Sudbury to Bury St. Edmunds.

Certainly the new Thetford bus station is a vast improvement on the old Maurice, the tight exit of which I negotiated many times. Despite not living too far from Thetford it had been a while since we had visited and I was taken aback on how the old bus station site and the adjacent area had been redeveloped.

In the main our visits have usually been for shopping but from time to time we have ‘strayed’ to the fringes of the town centre having visited the Priory, Castle Hill, Melford Common and pleasant walks by the river beyond Butten Island towards Nuns Bridges.
