DSCF8065 Arriva Merseyside buses in Liverpool - 16 Jun 2017
Friday 16 June 2017 (1708) – St. Luke’s Church, which stands at the corner of Berry Street and Lecce Street in Liverpool. On 6 May 1941 the church was hit by an incendiary device during the bombing of Liverpool which caused a large fire leaving only the shell of the building remaining. The shell remains as a memorial to those lost in the World War 2 bombing raids inflicted on the city. Two Arriva Merseyside Wright bodied double deckers are seen on Leece Street. Left is 4570 (DK64 BVE), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400, and right 4461 (MX61 AXY), a semi integral VDL powered Wright Gemini 2.
