Showbus, Donington - Sun 25 Sep 2016

HHP 755, a Maudslay badged AEC Regal III with Duple bodywork which was new in 1948 for display at the Commercial Motor Show that year. It was then sold to Greenslades Tours, the well known Devon based operator in whose livery it is preserved.

Coventry based Maudslay Motors was taken over by AEC in 1948 and the name was retained until being phased out in 1950. The Maudslay factory assembled AEC designed products and the use of 'badge engineering' enabled the ACV Group to obtain more space to exhibit a wider range of products at the Show. AEC had also acquired Crossley Motors in 1948 and the three companies operated as Associated Commercial Vehicles (ACV).
