DSCF3460 Bury St. Edmunds bus station - 23 May 2016
Monday 23 May 2016 (1115) - Selwyns Travel 249 (BX16 CJZ), a Caetano Levante bodied Volvo B11RT new in April 2016, seen reversing off Stand 1 in Bury St. Edmunds bus station when working the 0845 National Express service 370 from Clacton-on-Sea to Runcorn (due 2015). The service travels via many diverse places including Cambridge, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Chester.

In early 2016 in an effort to reduce operating costs at the bus station the local council separated the interior of the building reducing the passenger waiting area by half and closing the enquiry desk facility. The floor space area adjacent to St. Andrew’s Street (represented by the nearest two of the four large window sections between the street and the parked contractor’s van) was put up for lease as a separate retail unit accessed through the original entrance door closest to the street. At the time of this photograph an occupant had still to be found. The passenger waiting area has been reduced to the floor area behind the two window sections nearer the van. This area, accessed through the entrance door close to bus stand 1, includes the toilets and a new coffee kiosk.
