DSCN5918 Stephensons of Essex G705 TCD in Bury St. Edmunds - 22 Jun 2011

Wednesday 22 June 2011 (1628) - Stephensons of Essex Limited took over the failed business of Burtons Coaches at the end of May 2011. This additional work resulted in a number of vehicles being loaned and/or acquired. Former Stagecoach South 14975 (G705 TCD), an Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian which was new in April 1990 as Southdown 705, is seen leaving Bury St Edmunds for Haverhill. Whilst the Stagecoach fleetnames had been removed the ‘strapline’ which read ‘serving The Downs’ remained. There is also a driver recruitment poster on the rear panel for Stagecoach in Chichester. The bus became fleet number 705.
