La fontaine Algéroise : zoudj ayoun

Presque chaque quartier a eu la sienne. Chacune porte un nom évocateur d’un morceau de la vie de tous les jours. La fontaine est souvent un point de ralliement. C’est aussi l’identité du lieu.
Une inscription au dessus de cette fontaine explique : « Ali Pacha, ayant examiné parfaitement ce monde périssable, / a songé à gagner son salut par l’emploi de ses richesses tout en élevant une construction. / Il a fait couler ces fontaines qui donnent la vie et la pureté. / Il espère en son coeur des éloges sincères, que Dieu soit satisfait de lui ! / Puisse-t-il ètre admis sans jugement au plus haut du paradis. »
Année 1178 de l’Hégire (1764-1765).
