Les falaises de Champeaux (jusqu'à 80 m), offrent une grande diversité par la richesse de leur faune et de leur flore. Du haut de ces falaises se dresse un paysage aux vues imprenables sur le Mont Saint-Michel et sa baie. Au pied de ce massif à marée basse, on y trouve le plus grand récif d’hermelles d’Europe, certains pouvant atteindre jusqu’à 1,5 m de hauteur ! Ces colonies de petits vers marins confectionnent sur les roches des tubes d’une trentaine de centimètre constitués de grains de sable et débris de coquilles. THE BEACH AT THE FOOT OF THE CLIFFS. The cliffs of Champeaux (up to 80 m high), offer a big diversity by the richness of their fauna and flora. From the top of these cliffs, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Mont Saint-Michel and its bay. At the foot of this massif at low tide, you can find the largest honeycomb worm reef in Europe, some of which can reach up to 1.5 m in height! These colonies of small marine worms build tubes of about 30 cm on the rocks, made up of grains of sand and shell debris. DER STRAND AM FUSSE DER KLIPPEN. Die Klippen von Champeaux (bis zu 80 m hoch), bieten eine grosse Vielfalt durch den Reichtum ihrer Fauna und Flora. Vor diesen Klippen erhebt sich eine Landschaft mit atemberaubenden Ausblicken auf den Mont Saint-Michel und seine Bucht. Am Fusse des Massivs befindet sich bei Ebbe das grösste Trichterwurm-Riff Europas, von dem einige bis zu 1,5 m hoch werden können! Diese Kolonien von kleinen Meereswürmern bauen auf den Felsen 30 cm lange Röhren aus Sandkörnern und Schalenresten.

The chapel with its white walls , still used today as a landmark for sailors, was built at the beginning of 17th C. as an expression of devotion, to beg Sainte Barbe for protections agains the dagers incurred by the boats and sailors. The "Johnnies" sailing from Roscoff to sell their onions on the other side of the Channel never failed to salute the saint by hoisting their flags three times.

La "Pointe du Grouin" is a rocky and wild point overlooking the sea with 40 meters.

La Pointe du Grouin est une pointe rocheuse et sauvage qui domine la mer de 40m. Le panorama s'étend du cap Fréhel à Granville en passant par la baie du Mont Saint-Michel, au large des îles Chausey. L'île des Landes en face constitue une réserve ornithologique et botanique.

It sounds incredible, but this was on February 27: the beach was crowded and this little girl had most fun in the water... The boy (see PiP) was more careful: he just watched the waves (2nd PiP) from the safe shore:-))

"Castel Meur", certainement la petite maison la plus célèbre de toute la Bretagne. Construite en 1861 par un Breton que les vents et les tempêtes n’effrayaient pas, elle tourne le dos à la mer, enchâssée entre 2 énormes blocs de granit et a résisté aux éléments depuis un siècle et demi. "Castel Meur", certainly the most famous little house in Brittany. Built in 1861 by a Breton that the winds and storms did not frighten, it turns its back to the sea, set between two huge blocks of granite and has withstood the elements for a century and a half.
