The "Passage du Gois" is a 4,2 km passage in the sea, connecting the continent to the Noirmoutier Island. It is used since the 18th century and was the only driveway until 1971, date of the construction of a bridge. Today frequented by local oyster farmers, many fishermen on foot and tourists, the Gois is an unusual place to see. Beacons-shelters mark the passage of this submersible way, thus allowing the imprudent ones surprised by the rising tide to hoist themself up and to wait for the withdrawal of the tide (see PiP's).

En ces temps de confinement, plus de balades ni d'escapades ! Alors voilà, je me promène dans mon jardin... Voici une vue du plan d'eau le soir, la photo précédente le montre autour de midi, et la 3ème vue présente la table de pique-nique sous le séquoia. In these times of confinement, no more walks or getaways! So here I am, strolling in my garden ... "SPECTACLE CELESTE" AU-DESSUS DE GRANVILLE... avec le disque solaire et le ciel autour qui semble s'enflammer (on dirait presque l'Algérie >> petit clin d'oeil à Malik ;-)) "HIMMLISCHES SCHAUSPIEL" ÜBER GRANVILE... mit der Sonnenscheibe am Himmel, der sich zu entzünden scheint.

Les soirées se suivent et ne se ressemblent pas. Die Abende folgen sich und sind doch nicht gleich.

NEOWISE photographiée au matin du 7/7/20 par Cyril Calvet , depuis le belvédère catalan de Força Real. Hier soir nous étions dehors à la recherche de la comète NEOWISE, nous l'avons vu vers 23:30 sous la Grande Ourse. Superbe spectacle sur le ciel nocturne de ce corps céleste, visible à l’œil nu, mais mieux encore avec une paire de jumelles. J'ai raté mes photos (!!), alors je vous poste celle-ci, prise par Cyril Calvet dans les Pyrénées orientales. NEXT APPROACH: IN 6800 YEARS ... Last night we were outside looking for the comet NEOWISE, and we saw him around 11:30 pm under the Big Dipper. Superb spectacle of this celestial body on the night sky, visible to the naked eye, but better still with a pair of binoculars. As I took only bad photos (!!), I'm posting this one, taken by Cyril Calvet in the Eastern Pyrenees. NÄCHSTE ANNÄHERUNG : IN 6800 JAHREN ... Letzte Nacht waren wir draussen und haben nach dem Kometen NEOWISE Ausschau gehalten, wir haben ihn gegen 23:30 Uhr unter dem Grossen Wagen entdeckt. Wunderbares Schauspiel dieses Himmelskörpers am Nachthimmel, mit blossem Auge sichtbar, aber noch besser mit einem Fernglas. Meine Foto sind nichts geworden (!!), also poste ich dieses von Cyril Calvet in den östlichen Pyrenäen.

...de Saint-Ségal lundi soir (Photo Yann Borel). Un phénomène rare que j'ai pu observer la dernière (et seule) fois en 1989 sur nos latitudes. Hier et avant-hier, je n'ai vu que quelques lueurs à l'horizon vers le nord. L'article entier se trouve ici . On Monday evening, an aurora borealis illuminated the skies of Saint-Ségal (Photo Yann Borel). A rare phenomenon, which I last (and only) saw in our latitudes in 1989. Ein seltenes Phänomen, das ich das letzte (und einzige) Mal 1989 in unseren Breitengraden beobachten konnte. Gestern und vorgestern habe ich nur ein helles Glühen am nördlichen Horizont gesehen.
