A very nice picture of this interesting church!
Why its nickname is 'The Cathedral of the Moor' ?
I looked for internet, but i only found this information.
Wikipedia says
"The church was erected on the site of an earlier church. Episcopal records in Wells mention a church in North Curry as early as 1199."
Anyway you made a really wonderful composition with the sheep!

I gather that it is known as the Cathedral of the Moors because of it's impressive size, and of course it stands proud above the Levels or Moors. It is a lot bigger than it actually looks in this picture and is really quite beautiful.

Roger also told me the sheep can be seen on the image from Google Earth!!

The church is beautiful. We wanted a closer look as we took some photos from a little distance away on the other side of the church. Surrounded by trees in their autumn colours it looked so nice. Unfortunately parking was limited and we had to settle for this view. I was pleased though as we may not have had such a warm welcome at the front of the church.
