Fields of Gold - North Yorkshire

Fields of Gold - North Yorkshire
Rapeseed (Brassica napus), also known as rape, oilseed rape, and, in the case of one particular group of cultivars, canola, is a bright-yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae (mustard or cabbage family). Cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seed. It is the third-largest source of vegetable oil and second-largest source of protein meal in the world.

Your garden must be so full of colour when your wild flowers bloom. We used to have many wild flowers in the fields, at the roadside and in the hedgerows, but very few now thanks to 'modern' farming techniques. Many thanks for your visit trester.

Hello Bill. The track is what caught my eye. There are plenty of fields of solid yellow but I thought the track added a little interest, glad you agree.

You either love it or loath it. Personably I find the initial flashes of gold very appealing, then after a few days it begins to pall!
I seem to know a lot of people who are allergic to its pollen!
Nevertheless, it's a pleasing shot, Doug!

I agree with you Andy. Lovely colour but the scent of the crop can be rather strong, especially if it in the field at the bottom of your garden!
