Bevorzugt nur für Kolibris - Preferred only for hummingbirds

Cleistocactus is a plant genus from the cactus family (Cactaceae). The botanical name (from Greek kleistós for closed) refers to the tubular flowers in the genus, which in some species appear almost closed. In addition, since they do not provide a landing opportunity for insects, only hummingbirds can pollinate such long, tubular flowers. Cleistocactians are found in South America.
The picture of this Cleistocactus was taken in a greenhouse of the show garden in Waren on the Müritz.
