Das Türkenbett in St. Florian - The Turkish bed in St. Florian
In the monastery of St. Florian near Linz, the so-called Prince Eugene Room with the bed made for Prince Eugene of Savoy with depictions from the Great Turkish War 1683-1698 (see group of figures at the foot of the bed) is located in the continuous suite of the imperial rooms. The victory over the Turks near Vienna heralded the fall of the Ottoman Empire. By the way, Prince Eugene, the superstar of the Turkish War, never slept in this bed.
