Der Jardim Teófilo Braga (auch Jardim da Praça da República) beim Praça da Republica, benannt nach dem Dichter, Schriftsteller und Lehrer Teófilo Braga .
Ursprünglich diente der Platz der Kaserne Santo Ovídio für Militärübungen (1790 von Königin Maria I. erbaut). In den Jahren 1915 bis 1916 wurde der Platz in einen öffentlichen Garten umgewandelt.
