Vico Morcote, eines der beliebtesten touristischen Ausflugsziele im südlichen Tessin (Sottoceneri).
Das Dorf liegt auf 424 Meter über NN am Südosthang des Monte Arbostora rund 150 Meter über dem Luganersee und ist über drei steile, enge und kurvige Nebenstrassen erreichbar. Die nächste Bahnstation ist 4km entfernt.
Das 'Vico Morcote' wird erstmals im Jahr 1022 unter dem Namen 'Vico Morcao' erwähnt.
1591 hatte es 120 Einwohner, heute sind es 422.

P.S. Vico ist abgeleitet aus dem Lateinischen vīcus und bedeutet so viel wie «Dorf, Weiler, Anwesen, Bauernhaus, Bauernhof“.
