mucky pond

Our once beautiful pond has become a quagmire, thanks to the ducks and geese. We didn't mind them making it untidy or muddy, but it is close to being a cesspool of fowlness. Aesthetics aside, it can't be good for them to swim in and drink from. We are going to fence it off and they'll have to make do with clamshells again. Meanwhile, I have thrown some barley straw in, which is supposed to help clear it up.
