I can't believe it: recently the entire summit of the Kitzbüheler Horn has been fenced off with palisades. And yet the last accidents did not happen on the summit, but through carelessness during the ascent via the hiking trail leading north to the summit.

Ich fasse es nicht: Seit kurzem ist der gesamte Gipfel des Kitzbüheler Horns mit Palisaden eingezäunt. Dabei passierten die letzten Unfälle nicht auf dem Gipfel, sondern durch Unachtsamkeit beim Aufstieg über den nördlich zum Gipfel führenden Wanderweg.

Es soll sogar vorgekommen sein, dass Gipfel einfach weggesprengt wurden (1938, Zugspitze Westgipfel).

Wenigsten nicht zu hoch, sonst wäre auch die Aussicht noch beeinträchtigt :-)

Aber man muss heute schon überall mit Unerfahrenen und Leichtsinnigen
rechnen. Hier an der Elbe ertrinken immer wieder unbedarfte Jungs.
Können nicht schwimmen und verstehen auch nicht die Warnschilder,
die auf den Sog und Wellenschlag vorbeifahrender Schiffe hinweisen.

Der Schuldbürgerstreich bei alledem: Hinter dem Warnschild steht außen eine Leiter. Die ist für die Klettersteiggeher/innen erforderlich, weil die Palisaden ohne Leite echt schwer zu erklimmen sind. Von der Zaunkrone müssen sie dann - samt Rucksack und Klettergeschirr - runterspringen. Wenn man älter wird, ist das eine Zumutung.
