Inside Katajanokka Jail
Inside the Katajanokka Jail in Helsinki - now a Best Western Hotel. (Stairway to the basement)
The former Southern Finland County Jail continued to serve as a prison until 2002. After that, it was converted into a hotel. The exterior of the building remained unchanged, as did the central corridor of the prison shown here and many other historically meaningful details.

Das ehemalige Bezirksgefängnis Südfinnlands diente noch bis 2002 als Gefängnis. Danach wurde es in ein Hotel umgewandelt. Das Äußere des Gebäudes blieb unverändert, ebenso wie der hier gezeigte zentrale Korridor des Gefängnisses und viele andere, historisch bedeutsame Details.
