Morning Briefing
Mountaineers during their morning briefing in front of the Münchener Haus. This refuge has been established 1897 and is the highest situated alpine hut of the German Alpine Club. It's not possible to make bookings. You simply have to be there early enough and to line up.
The tower behind the hut is the Meteorological Station, which was inauguratetd in the year of 1900. Both buildings stand in crass contrast to the very modern new top terminal of the Eibsee cable railway, which shall be opened in December, 2017. Here the topical state:

Bergsteiger bei der morgentlichen Lagebesprechung vor dem Münchener Haus. Dies wurde 1897 als höchstgelegene Schutzhütte des Deutschen Alpenvereins eröffnet. Übernachtungen können nicht reserviert werden. Man muss einfach rechtzeitig dort sein und für's Einchecken Schlange stehen.
Der Turm hinter der Hütte ist die Meteorologische Station, die im Juli 1900 eingeweiht wurde. Beide Bauwerke stehen in krassem Kontrast zu der hochmodernen neuen Bergstation der Eibsee-Seilbahn, die im Dezember 2017 eröffnet werden soll. Hier der aktuelle Stand:
