La centrale elettrica Montemartini fu il primo impianto pubblico per la produzione di energia elettrica a Roma.
dal 1997 restaurata in uno spazio espositivo dove furono trasportate una selezione di sculture e reperti archeologici dei Musei Capitolini e più tardi , dal 2001, arricchendosi di nuovi spazi vi si poterono esporre opere d’epoca repubblicana e Augustea Romana rimaste per anni chiuse nei depositi
Due mondi diametralmente opposti, l’archeologia e l’archeologia industriale , s’incontrano con un effetto altamente scenografico e significativo, senza snaturarsi l’un con l’altro

The Montemartini power station was the first public electricity generating plant in Rome.
Since 1997 it has been restored into an exhibition space where a selection of sculptures and archaeological finds from the Capitoline Museums have been transported, and later, since 2001, it has been enriched with new spaces where works from the Republican and Augustan Roman periods, which had been in storage for years, can be exhibited.
Two diametrically opposed worlds, archaeology and industrial archaeology, meet with a highly scenographic and significant effect, without denaturing each other.
