I only have a sad melancholy for the past, the years I spent so near Italy and the few times I was there, alone and with enough of a samll Mini to go everywhere. Well, almost, the budget was a student's purse, capisce...

I understand your feeling very well: there are missed opportunities in my youth too, of course.
But, youth has certainly reserved other joys and discoveries for us, even though with a small student purse.
And then ... as we say here: the last word is never said, or, never say never ... one day, who knows, you may find yourself in Verona!

I say this to myself, when I think with great regret that, despite having toured almost all of Europe, I have never been to Portugal or Iceland!!!!!

Hai scattato dal Ponte Pietra, vero ? (oramai anch'io comincio a sentire familiare VR ....).
Ma, se non fosse stato per il campanile, forse non avrei riconosciuto il luogo che, credo, ho visto due volte in ore diverse. Già, la luce .... che riscrive paesaggi e ritratti, che fa l'occhiolino alle nostre emozioni ! Qui sembra esplodere dietro il campanile per poi tuffarsi nell'Adige, trascurando in parte le case antiche. (notturno ? non mi sembra, forse "not dark yet" per dirla con Bob Dylan ,,,)
Per chi conosce il luogo è noto che la prospettiva seguita oltre la chiesa, lungo il fiume, ma interrompendola proprio là hai creato come un confine, tra noto e ignoto, tra realtà e fantasia. Nessuno può quindi sapere cosa c'è oltre, ma lo può immaginare in base alle proprie emozioni.
Le tonalità pittoriche che hai dato all'immagine rafforzano questa sensazione, questa sospensione di tempo tra sogno e poesia.
Immagato dalla foto ... e da VR !

Infatti , caro Amico, , hai perfettamente individuato sia il luogo sia il 'not dark yet'!!
Avevo scattato altre foto in quella giornata, serata da dal Ponte Pietra; poi, in quella bella notte di Capodanno al ritorno dal ristorante , ma da un altro ponte di cui chiaramente ! non ricordo il nome.
Non era certo la prima volta che andavo a Verona, ma era passato qualche anno e l'ho vissuta con una gioia e suggestione del tutto diverse , non rinnovate , ma completamente nuove, dalle precedenti.
Altra età, altri occhi, altro animus ...
Lì ero davvero 'sognante':-), grazie anche alla strana luce con la nebbiolina che saliva dal fiume.
Felice che tu sia immagato da questa città bellissima città profondamente veneta e al contempo anche non.
Ed entusiasta che tu sia immagato anche da questa mia 'interpretazione', diciamo così, di un suo particolare.

Notturno ma non troppo...direi un crepuscolo marsiano, con le tonalità che solo la mia Amica Bea sa trovare per esprimere uno stato d'animo, un'impressione...perché anche una persona come me che conosce molto superficialmente Verona ( e se ne rammarica....) comprende che la tua visione dal ponte del campanile e delle case è una "impression" di una Verona che si stende languidamente sull'Adige, verso il sole che ha lasciato bagliori dorati ...sogno di una Verona di inizio inverno , una immagine che reca come sempre il tuo stato d'animo e come sempre ci invita a sognare...una delle tante Verone possibili.
Grazie per tutto questo Bea cara, che colgo come un invito discreto ma irresistibile a tornare a Verona ...possibilmente con un animus giusto per coglierne , come hai fatto tu, la malia, ma con risultati decisamente meno fascinosi ed intriganti...
