The Scottish Parliament building Parliament building
Since 2004, the Parliament has been based in the new Parliament building in Holyrood, a district directly opposite Holyrood Palace, the Queen's official residence in Scotland. The building was designed by Catalan architect Enric Miralles. The striking roof in the form of an inverted ship characterizes the house. It was opened on 9 October 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II.
Scottish Parliament
The Parliament of Scotland was merged with the British Parliament under the Act of Union in 1707. In the referendum in Scotland in 1979, a narrow majority had already been achieved in favour of an institution. However, it was not until 1998, after a second referendum by the Scotland Act, that the basis for a partly independent Scottish Parliament was laid. The newly elected Parliament was first constituted on 12 May 1999.

The Old Tolbooth was considered an important building in the city of Edinburgh for over 400 years. The medieval building was first mentioned in the 14th century. Over time, he has various duties including housing the Burgh Council, meetings of the Parliament of Scotland or the Court of Session. It was also the city's main prison, where physical punishment and torture were routinely carried out in addition to detention. From 1785 public executions were carried out. In 1817, the buildings were demolished and renovated several times.

The Royal Mile ,exactly one mile and 107 meters from the entrance of Edinburgh Castle to the gates of the Palace of Holyrood House, a tourist attraction that gives an insight into the history of the city and Scotland itself. Most of the architecture is Victorian - the houses date from the 15th and 16th centuries.
Built in pink sandstone with corner towers and turrets, the Radiso Blu looks like an old building, originally built in 1990, on which a block of 18th century houses is considered the most beautiful example of modern medieval architecture.
