Piazza Solferino / Fontana Angelica (Angelica Fountain)

Piazza Solferino, in the historical centre of the city, takes its name from the city of Solferino in the province of Mantova, where in 1859 the Battle of Solferino took place, in which the French-Piedmontese troops defeated the Austrians in the second war of independence.
The square, served as a wooden marketplace until the Napoleonic period.

Fontana Angelica (Angelica Fountain)
It was inaugurated on October 28, 1930, and is composed of four large statues that recall the four seasons.
