Im Sommer weiden hier u.a. Lamas, welche die empfindlich Grasnarbe kurz halten und nicht zertreten, da sie Schwielengänger sind und keine Hufe haben.

Ehemals wichtiger strategischer Punkt für die Bayern
Die Burgruine Auerburg in Oberaudorf ist eine Felsenburg. Dabei wurden natürliche Felsformationen in die Wehranlage einbezogen. Auf einem 543 m über NN gelegenem Felsen liegt die Ruine der Burg oberhalb von Oberaudorf. Eine Besiedelung des Burgfels wird bereits zur Bronzezeit angenommen und im 12. Jahrhundert befand sich die erste Burganlage an dieser Stelle. Die Auerburg als solche wurde das erste Mal 1329 erwähnt und war ein wichtiger strategischer Punkt für die Bayern im Inntal.
