Der Schatten der Erde verdeckt den Mond

stehen auf der gleichen Linie - Die Erde verdeckt den Mond, da aber die Sonnenstrahlen an der Erde vorbeigehen erhellen sie den Mond .
Während die kurzwelligen blauen Lichtwellen der Sonnenstrahlen vollständig von der Erdatmosphäre gestreut werden, wird langwelliges, rotes Licht gebrochen und in Richtung Mond gelenkt. Dadurch schimmert der Mond rötlich und wir auch Blutmond genannt. (Spiegel)
