Party in the forest
"A guest party under the wing of the forest
Pastor Groundstroem 3rd from the left
Takala 2st from the left
Hankavaara -//-
? 4rd from the left
Taken in January"
The only priest called Groundstroem google knows is Kalervo Kurkiala/Grounstroem/Grundström ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalervo_Kurkiala ) who, besides acting as a capellanus in my former home Ikaalinen, served in the Waffen-SS as a military pastor. Person in the picture doesn't much remind of him, and Kurkiala wears glasses in all of the pictures of him. But after the war Kalervo became the leader of Finnish Seamen's Missionary, that does Christian missionary/spiritual work among those Finns who live abroads - and that well could have taken him to somewhere were summer is in full bloom in January.. Who knows. I bought this because I collect pictures of "gentlemen on a field trip". Whoever the pastor is, he's got a bit of a grim streak going on.
