Alaska, Matanuska Glacier
Matanuska Glacier is a glacier in Alaska. The official name of this glacier was given in 1898 by Thomas Medenhall after the name of the river of the same name.
The glacier is located in a valley in the Chugach Mountains on the territory of the Matanuska-Susitna borough. The dimensions of the glacier are approximately 43 km X 6 km. The glacier moves at a speed of about 30 cm per day.
