  • Front GB Coureur Plus front caliper with sufficient reach to accommodate 27 x 1 1/4" wheels with wired on tires for training or tubulars (700c) for racing.
  • Oscar Egg Super Champion lugs were featured on most Berry frames built from the early-1950s through 1957. After 1957, the lugset was still sometimes used.
  • GB "Map of Britain" handlebars and GB Spearpoint alloy stem
  • 581656 - Gargette bottom bracket shells (marked RGF) were used by Johnny Berry on nearly all frames from 1950/51 onwards.
  • Campagnolo 1010 dropouts were common on Berry frames from the mid-1950s onward.
  • Seat cluster. Brush top eye decoration is by Jeff Pinard and in the style of C&G Finishes, Liverpool who painted Berry frames.
  • Non-drive side full view. Restored in 2014/15. Paint by Russ Pickett, Air Art, Chico, California.
  • Diver's helmet gear cable housing stops and above BB shell cable routing are typical features of Berry frames.
  • Stronglight 49d crankset with closely spaced TA chainrings and Campagnolo Gran Sport front derailleur
  • Campagnolo Gran Sport rear derailleur. Domed stay ends and diver's helmet gear cable housing stops are typical features of Johnny Berry frames.
  • 581656 features a curved brake bridge. 20-25% of the Johnny Berry frames that I have seen have a curved brake bridge, the rest have a straight brake bridge
  • Brake cable routing on lower right side of top tube is common on Berry frames as are the half round brake cable housing stops with a rounded head.
  • Reproduction script Johnny Berry down tube dry-transfer by Gary Prange, SSSink, West Jefferson, North Carolina
  • Seat cluster from above. C & G style brush decoration by Jeff Pinard
  • 581656 - Serial number is stamped on the drive side, under the bottom bracket shell. All Berry frames built after 1952 are stamped in this location. Note hole for grease nippled on near the bottom, rear of the shell.
  • 581656 - Serial number is under the fork crown. It corresponds with the number stamped under the BB shell. All Johnny Berry framesets have serial numbers stamped in two places, somewhere on the frame and under the fork crown.
  • Head lugs/crown lined in gold by Alan Woods. Campagnolo Gran Sport shifters. Lower head lug grease nipple is typical on Berry frames.
  • 581656 is set up with two GB Coureur Plus brake calipers, each with an integral adjuster and quick release. Alloy Coureur and Coureur Plus side pull calipers were common on British road bikes during the 1950s.
  • "RGF" (mark of Racord Gargette Freres) bottom brackets were typically used by Berry on frames starting in the very early 1950s.
  • Drive side full view. Built for Hilda Fox, who placed 3rd in the 1958 British RTTC National 100 mile TT Championship on this bike.
