IBa034 Ocinara albicollis

Bombycidae - Wingspan: 24mm.
A small species which is widespread from East Africa through to China and Indonesia. A single specimen came to the Light Trap on the 4th.

Geometridae, Ennominae - Wingspan: 18mm.
My thanks to Ryan, below, for the identification. A single specimen came in to the Light Trap on the 4th.

Erebidae, Aganainae - Wingspan: 60mm.
A widespread species throughout the Indo-Australian tropics giving arise to around 25 sub-species. Three specimens came to the Light Trap during our stay on different dates.

Geometridae, Sterrhinae - Wingspan: 29mm.
My thanks to Ryan, below, for tracing the ID of this species. A single specimen was found dead in the bottom of the Light Trap on the 5th.
IBa038 Glyphodes itysalis

Crambidae - Wingspan: 26mm.
A similar looking species to IBa028 Glyphodes duplicalis in patterns, but this one has white panels and darker borders. A single specimen came to the Light Trap on the 5th.
IBa039 Parotis marginata

|
Crambidae - Wingspan: 30mm.
Widespread through the Oriental region, reaching as far as Fiji and northern parts of Australia. A single specimen came to the Light Trap on the 5th.
IBa041 Pelagodes semihyalina

Geometridae, Geometrinae - Wingspan 34mm.
One of a number of "Emerald" species in this area, a single specimen came to our Light Trap on the 5th.

Crambidae - Wingspan: 30mm.
Not the Asian Riceborer as originally thought, my thanks to Ryan, below, for pointing to the correct ID. Two specimens came to the Light Trap on the 5th and 9th, the latter a female which laid two egg-patches in the holding pot. However, they failed to hatch.

Erebidae, Lymantriinae - Wingspan: 20mm.
Two specimens came to the Light Trap on the 5th and 9th, the latter a female which laid eggs in the holding pot. These subsequently hatched, but nothing could be found that the larvae would eat.

Erebidae, Lymantriinae - Wingspan: 20mm.
Two specimens came to the Light Trap on the 5th and 9th. A small species which can be seen compared to my thumb-tip.
IBa044 Tridrepana microcrocea

Drepanidae - Wingspan: 40mm.
A single specimen of this "Hook-tip" came to our Light Trap on the 7th.

Noctuidae (?) - Wingspan: 22mm.
A Single specimen came in to the Light Trap on the 7th.

Pyralidae - Wingspan: 30mm.
My Thanks to Ryan, below, for pointing me to the right family. A single specimen came to the Light Trap on the 8th.
IBa047 Autocharis sp?

Crambidae - Wingspan: 20mm.
A single specimen of this small "Snout" species came to the Light Trap on the 8th.
Further research could imply that this may be a Pyralid in the Crambidae family. There are similarly shaped and sized species in the Autocharis genus.

Crambidae - Wingspan: 26mm.
A widespread Oriental and Australian Pyralid. Three specimens came to the Light Trap on the 8th (1) and 9th (2).
IBa049 Elophila nigralbalis

|
Crambidae - Wingspan: 16mm.
A species which is associated with water plants, which is not surprising with Rice fields nearby. A single specimen came to the Light Trap on the 8th.

IBa051 Cnaphalocrocis medinalis

Crambidae - Wingspan:16mm.
Two specimens of this small Pyralid came to the Light Trap on the 8th and 9th.
