52 Stenocatantops splendens

The " grass" area in front of the villa was made up from a very broad leafed plant, the eastern equivalent of grass, but we still had the usual insect population around if you looked. This Grasshopper, around 50mm in length, was one we found there. My thanks to Judith Marshall (NHM Rtd) for this provisional identification.
