This is a real photo postcard showing the silhouette of a lone man at the top of the overlook known as Lover's Leap. Below the rock outcropping is the Cumberland Narrows, a water gap through the mountain. Wills Creek, the National Road (U.S. Route 40), and railroad tracks run through the Narrows.

Egad! Scary but a great spot for train spotting. Recently I've seen a few stories of people killed trying to get photos of themselves in precarious situations and this caused me to wonder who was the first person killed in such an adventure. Anyway, great example of the theme!

Thanks, everyone! I'd be a little leery of standing there like that to have my picture taken. I've seen recent reports about selfie deaths, too, and Wikipedia even has an entry on the topic.
