Mr. Nunes, the plantation owner, gave up selling his coffee to big supermarkets when he became aware that it was sold for 10 times the price he was paid. Now, it can only be tasted at his own café, where the espresso is worth the € 1 you pay for a unique flavour.

It stands at the roadside of the nearest gravel road from the tragic air crash of the ATP "Graciosa" against Pico da Esperança (Peak of Hope), the highest mountain of São Jorge, Azores, in the centre of the island. Five months before I had used that same aircraft for twice.
