Tinned fish industry.
It thrived until the mid 20th century, when the decay of demand brought about the closure of several plants, not only in the Algarve but in other seaside places with a significant fishing fleet. This model shows in real size one of the procedures before tinning the fish - mostly sardines and tunny - inside the Museum of Portimão.
