Chimney and Nantwich Millennium Clock, Cocoa Yard

According to the plaque, the chimney was part of a wheelwright's forge and smithy, making parts for the adjacent Welch's Coach Manufactory (now demolished). The clock (foreground) is the Nantwich Millennium Clock by Paul Beckett (see SJ6552 : Nantwich Millennium Clock, Cocoa Yard). The Cocoa Yard, formerly Cocoa House Yard, is named for the nearby Cocoa House on Pillory Street, built during the Victorian temperance movement; it is now a small shopping arcade (see SJ6552 : Entrance to Cocoa Yard, Nantwich
