WP2065 WPG - ICE LEAVING THE ASSINIBOINE

WP2065 WPG - ICE LEAVING THE ASSINIBOINE
POSTCARD

Date: This is odd. The handwritten note is dated July 23, 1906, but the card was clearly posted on August 23, 1905, from W. Mc in Winnipeg to V. Smith in Dartmouth, N.S.

Publisher / Photographer: Novelty Souvenir Co., Winnipeg

Notation: Even though the writer wasn't certain what year he was in, he knew what city he was in; "I am in Winnipeg at last[.] quite a town[.] good Bye"

Is the photo from right at the forks looking back across the Main Street Bridge toward the transit barns?

Postcard TLG5-026, according to the book. It's really a Toronto Lithographing Co. card, but in Winnipeg they had the Novelty Souvenir Co. branding.

I have the same interpretation of the view. Interesting about the re-branding of the card.
