A pair of Canada Geese on open water on Wascana Lake, with one of them doing some early morning feeding.
go high, go low

Animal behaviour is fascinating. I have seen this behaviour several times, but I haven't discovered what it means. I used a long lens to observe this from a distance.
goose on the path

A Canada Goose on a walking path in Wascana Park, making his way along the path until deciding to wade into the lake, to the left in this image.
none shall pass!

A pair of Canada Geese I encountered in Wascana Park. They had been grazing their supper and were heading across a jogging path toward the lake. They are particularly territorial in the nesting season, which reminded me of the Black Knight sketch in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail.
twisted trunks B&W
I thought this image of a tree beside Wasana Creek might work well as a black and white, so I previewed it with several B&W presets. This is one of the better options, I think.
twisted trunks
A tree with trunks curing over into the ice of Wascana Creek, although an open patch of water has developed around the trunks.
ducks with gull escort 2
It appeared that the pair of ducks had an escort of gulls as they traversed a section of open water on Wascana Creek.
a green fan

A close look at on e of many similar plants in a corner of the Regina Floral Conservatory. The intense green is a welcome sight at the end of a long Saskatchewan winter.
red and yellow 2

Another of the colourful flowers with what I can frilly fringes, found growing in the Regina Floral Conservatory.

I found this colourful flower with the fringed edges at the Regina Floral Conservatory. I couldn't find a sign identifying it, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph it.

FN Univ-morning

The First Nations University in Regina, in the morning blue hour. The building was designed by architect Douglas Cardinal, whose portfolio includes several remarkable buildings.
look sharp!
Portions of three large round cacti that grow inside the Regina Floral Conservatory. Once a year the good folks who operate the Conservatory set aside an evening for members of the local photo club to make photos of the plants that grow there. After a long winter, it's a welcome treat.
patriotic shed
I have driven by this garden shed many times, but it has taken on new meaning in recent weeks, so I stopped to take a shot of it.
blue hour-orange hour
This image was taken looking west, from the western edge of Regina. It was the blue hour, but the setting sun hidden behind a cloud bank did produce some orange light to contrast with the blue.
locked in ice B&W
The same image as the previous, with a black and white, sepia-toned preset applied.
locked in ice
An image taken at one of my favourite locations at Wascana Lake; this time during blue hour in winter.
volunteers in canola
Some volunteer plants thriving in a field of canola. I think the volunteers are what are colloquially known as bee balm, which means they attract pollinators actors, which is helpful to other plants.
