Snoozing snowy

Snoozing snowy
This snowy owl appears to be snoozing, but with the feathers around its eyes, it is difficult to tell. My guess is that it is alert to predators and the possibility of its next meal. Taken in February 2021 near Rouleau, Saskatchewan.

We are privileged here to see them in the wild throughout the winter. Even a “poor” morning traveling the back roads will usually result in two or three encounters. Thanks Wilfried.
