This is the third church at this site. The area around it was settled by German-speaking people from the Crimea, in the early 1900s. This church opened in 1928, and closed in 1983.

This church sits above a lovely valley near Mankota. The cemetery behind the church is well cared for, so there must be people looking after both. You can't see from this angle that one side of the front entry stairs is falling in. Water has washed away some gravel underneath.
