Always lovely to see your montages Udo. We could allow the occasional hoverfly picture in the Bee group if the species is clearly identified in the picture description and you say "this hoverfly is often mistaken for a bee". :)

Great montage and excellent clear close-ups of this hoverfly to show the difference between it and a bee. Hoverflies have that distinctive pointed pattern in the dark stripe on the body. Their eyes are different to that of a bee also. There are many other differences but those two are the most noticeable.
