Reindeer (the small white dots in the bottom half of the main photo, also see PiPs) gathering on the shores of Magerøya. They are brought over to the island in spring via barge and in autumn (strong and well nourished) swim over to the mainland on their own.

This snowstorm kept following us for an hour until it finally reached us in Magerøysund

Even the workers at Havøysund harbour only went out into the snowstorm when they really couldn't avoid it;-) On the return journey they were hard at work outside:

A very colourful sunrise at Havøysund. Warm low pressure led to ice rain by afternoon, virtually every surface was covered with 1-2 cm of clear ice.

After a full 11-12 Beaufort storm in the Barents Sea the morning saw us in more sheltered waters between two islands. The night was pretty rough, especially around the Nordkinn peninsula where the curtains in the cabin were at an impossible angle at times and the waves went over the lifeboats. Nach einem Orkan in der Barentssee mit 11-12 Beaufort waren wir am Morgen in ruhigeren Gewässsern zwischen 2 Inseln. Die Nacht war ziemlich unruhig, um die Nordkinn-Halbinsel standen die Vorhänge in der Kabine in einem unmöglichen Winkel ab und die Wellen kamen über die Rettungsboote bis auf's oberste Deck.

10.21 a.m. near Hammerfest - the sun finally rises behind the hills. At temperatures below -20°C frostrøyk has formed over the water.
