I used to photograph an arctic tern diving for fish on my local river. It used to always appear during the nidification season. Sadly, I haven't seen it for a few years. The Arctic tern migrates from the Arctic to Antarctica and back each year, typically traveling around 70,000 km on its winding route between the two poles

Thank you so much, m̌ ḫ! They are amazing birds. This year they have been very early, the first arrived in Iceland mid April! But they are all gone again by 1st August.
