Amelia ^club

These colourful houses seem to be on stilts. I assume that the lower half is what is known as the 'bod' in Norway. I love the way that the Scandinavians use colour to great effect. This view must look really cheerful even on a drab day.

Thanks very much, Amelia! The stilts probably serve to keep the houses out of the snow in winter and they even out the terrain. I haven't had a look inside but I also think the concrete ground floor is for storage and the upper wooden house for living in.

Thanks a lot, Steve! The houses are pre-fabricated and come by ship, the owners choose the colour:-) The mountains in the background are on the neighbouring peninsula but the village also has it's own over 1100m high mountain.

Es hat einen sehr großen Briefkasten im Ort, da kannst du deine Post an den Weihnachtsmann einwerfen- und wenn du Geld reintust, bekommst du anscheinend sogar eine Antwort;-)
