There's nothing quite so nice as an English country garden, and Hidcote looks glorious in the spring. You would have been disappointed with the visit this year. It has been very cold and windy and since Monday we've had heavy rain, hail, high winds and this morning heavy sleet showers.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! We had the same sort of weather here, April much too cold (heating bills are up...) and the start of May windy and wet.
It actually had been the same the year we visited Hidcote, vegetation was behind so we saw spring flowers which usually would have been long gone.
