It seems we also have a vaccine nearly ready to go...........it has still to go through the authorisation and then the distribution processes though. Our Government couldn't organise a drinks party in a brewery, so I'm not holding my breath :-(

As to the vaccine, as far as I know your government has reserved quite a few doses of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine which looks the most promising at the moment. As to distribution. they'll probably give this to Serco or the like, though for your sake I hope not....

Pfizer have already said that if the process are not quickly completed they will have to let another country have the doses reserved for us! It doesn't fill me with confidence.

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good! And the Oxford vaccine for the UK is going to be manufactured in Belgium- I wonder how this will work out with Brexit...
Here they have been planning since summer, 60 vaccination centres with the requisite freezers are in the making.

Our lot seem more interested in political in-fighting and Brexit :-(

As far as the vaccine is concerned, I'm not raising my hopes. We always seem to be on the back foot here in the UK.

Thank you so much, Amelia! It's a real pity your government is so set on making their buddies rich instead of going with other Europeans. There have always been offers of help starting way back with the ventilators...
German top virologists sound cautiously optimistic abour the vaccine, and another mRNA vaccine by CureVac (the ones Trump wanted to buy) will probably be available beginning of next year.
