A breathtakingly beautiful image Gudrun, especially in that lovely sunshine (even though I expect it was freezing)!

I love the contrast between the earthy colours and textures of the landcape and the blue tones of the icebergs and the sky. I especially like the seemingly tiny iceberges on the horizon, they look like the sails of sailing boats.

Thanks very much, Keith! Yes, it was rather cold, but that was good for photos and with the added advantage that there were no more mosquitoes! They can be a real nuisance in summer, people have to cover up in nets...Up close the tiny icebergs would have been huge:-)

They had only a handful of cases and they do have extremely stringent restrictions. You only get in if you have urgent reasons to do so, but then you need a negative test less than 5 days old and taken in a Scandinavian country plus 10 days of quarantine on top! They have to do it that way because their health service is very limited, severe cases would have to be flown to Copenhagen!

Merci, poly! Ich weiß nur, dass der cairn den Beginn des Welterbegebiets bezeichnet, warum der noch den Stecken drauf hat? Vielleicht für den Winter, dass man's noch sieht, wenn viel Schnee liegt...Bei deinem Bild ist's viel höher, aber vielleicht liegt da mehr Schnee;-)
