Herzlichen Dank, Ulrich! Island ist überwältigend, da spürt man, dass die Natur stärker ist als wir! Das Hochland ist aus gutem Grund komplett unbewohnt, es ist nur im Sommer für wenige Monate überhaupt zugänglich.

Herzlichen Dank, Erika! Die bunten Berge sind berühmt und für isländische Verhältniss auch überlaufen- das war nach den menschenlerren Hochland im Norden ein Kulturschock;-)

Thanks a lot, Steve! Yes, rhyolite is only in the central volcano itself, it must have been sitting around a while in the rather shallow magma chamber. The fissure swarm erupts the usual basalt.
