Paris - Musée d'Art Moderne

Paris - Musée d'Art Moderne
Paris is the capital and largest city of France, with over 2 million inhabitants and more than 13 million in the greater metropolitan area.

The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris (MAM Paris) is a municipal museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In the summer of 2025, it hosted an exceptional exhibition of works by Henri Matisse showing Matisse's view of his eldest daughter, Marguerite Duthuit-Matisse (1894–1982),

Marguerite joined the French Resistance during World War II. She was arrested on May 21, 1944, after being denounced by the Gestapo, and deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp. However, she escaped during transport after being tortured. She was hidden and liberated in October 1944. Her father saw her again in January 1945. Deeply moved, Henri Matisse painted numerous portraits of her.
