Reims - Fontaine Subé

The Subé Fountain is located in the Place Drouet-d'Erlon in the center of Reims.

Thanks to a donation of 200,000 gold francs from Auguste Subé (1807 –1899), a native of Reims, the fountain was constructed and crowned with a bronze statue.

It was inaugurated in 1906

In 1942, the occupying German forces removed the bronze statue. Other elements of the composition were lost. By the end of World War II, 60% of the city of Reims was destroyed, but the fountain remained largely intact
