Caussade - Willy`s
Caussade is also known as the "City of Hats" because of its great fashion tradition. Hat making was originally a cottage industry using pieces of straw plaited by local shepherds. These were used to make hats. In the 1860s, the railway spawned the hat industry as it effortlessly brought heavy, modern machinery to Caussade. At the beginning of the 20th century, this industry reached its commercial peak, with the most famous product from Caussade being the "Canotier" straw hat. Today there are only a few milliners left here.
Every year in July, the "Fête du chapeau" takes place in honor of the long-standing tradition.
