A yellow pond Lilly. For years I couldn't understand why I never saw one fully open, only to learn that this is as open as they get.

These are the flowers of the ghost plant, sometimes called ghost pipes or Indian pipes (Monotropa uniflora). It is a parasitic flower that feeds on underground fungi, and so has no need for chlorophyll or sunlight, hence the almost pure white stems and flowers. It grows in dark woods

Bee balm (Monarda didyma), supposedly a favorite of hummingbirds (although I'm too slow to photography them). It has an almost mathematical symmetry. It is very fragrant, and the leaves can be used to make herbal tea.

A pink "pompom" poppy. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, it was blown away in a rainstorm.

Helleborine (Epipactis helleborine) is an orchid that turned up as a "weed" in the garden.
